Jimmy Carter wanted to make the White House a bit more fun for his daughter Amy, the only one of his children still living at home. So, he decided to build her a treehouse – somehow he found the time in-between his presidential duties to build it himself! Her and her friends had a treehouse-warming party when it was finished – overseen by the watchful eye of the Secret Service of course.
