Chester A. Arthur was president from 1881-1885 – and he was a bit of a player! He was known for his suave dress sense and given the nickname ‘Elegant Arthur’. In fact, on his last day in office he was proposed to by not one, but FOUR women. He was given the modern paparazzi treatment over his love life but famously said to reporters, “I may be president of the United States, but my private life is nobody’s damned business”.
