The tragic love story of Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere had it all. Lancelot fell in love with Guinevere, King Arthur’s wife, and their affection for one another slowly grew. One night, when together, King Arthur’s nephew led a band of 12 knights to Guinevere’s chamber where she was seized but Lancelot escaped. He daringly returned days later to rescue Guinevere from execution. In the end, Lancelot lived out his days as a hermit and Guinevere a nun, while the entire kingdom was weakened.
