Based on floor space and with 23,000 people working within its walls, The Pentagon which Houses the Department of Defense is the largest office building in the world. The construction of the building took only 16 months, September 11th 1941 to January 15th, 1943. The two-inch-thick, one ton heavy windows do not open.
