Interesting fact:

Cloud City was originally conceived as the capital of the Empire in a rough draft of "A New Hope", but never took to the screen. The concept was picked up again in Episode V. To make Cloud City appear immaculately shiny, the floors and walls of the studio set had to be polished over and over again. Everyone on set had to wear padded shoes.
