1978’s Halloween was shot on an insanely small budget (roughly $325,000), meaning that the props department were restricted to buying cheap $2 masks for the Michael Myers character. In the end, they used a mask of William Shatner, spray-painted it white, reshaped the eye holes and messed with the hair in straaaange ways.
